Brenner Pass
The Brenner Pass is a navigable route through the snow-capped high mountains which forms the boundary between Italy and Austria at 1,370 meters. It is one of the major passes in the Eastern Alpine and has the lowest height above sea level among Alpine passes of the area.
The Brenner pass has been one of the most important routes through the high mountains since ancient times. Today, the highway E45 and a railroad between Innsbruck and Bolzano move through it. The Brenner Pass is an interesting passage for some physical activities in summer such as hiking and cycling.
Today, the Brenner remains one of the most important and frequently congested freight and passenger routes across the Alps and Austria, Italy and the European Union are working on boosting the railway interconnectivity by constructing a very large base tunnel.
It is worthy of mention here that the ski resort Bergeralm offers various skiing and snowboarding activities for visitors in that area. The slopes and ski routes measuring 29 km and 1 km respectively are available for skiing and snowboarding. Also, guests can find 5 lifts transport for their usage and conveneince. The altitude of the winter sports area ranges from 1,048 to 2,180 meters.
However, the well-groomed slopes of all levels of complication in the Bergeralm Ski and Leisure Arena are meant to entertain visitors. The clear slope combining with the special wide view of the Wipptal valley offers winter guests a special skiing and snowboarding experience. Ideally, families and children are not left out as they are perfectly taken care of in the children’s ski area.

provides the easiest route to cross the high mountain and touring cyclists find it useful most times. The simple gradient and low altitude of the pass make it suitable for families and other kinds of climbers including cyclists on reclining or disability bikes, older, less fit or heavily laden cyclists.
Going through the Brenner pass offers an excellent opportunity to get pleasure from Alpine views without the requiring physical strength of some of the higher passes. Brenner pass is generally open all year round due to its low elevation. It becomes the only route to pass the high mountain using a bike during winter periods.
